TLDR: When a guarantor is added to a check, their ID, residence, and income (usually at a higher threshold than the applicant) are verified, similar to traditional applicant checks. Applicants can use third-party guarantor companies, but these cannot be verified, and no guarantor report will be provided. If using such a company, it should be noted in the comments during the check setup.
Guarantor Checks
When a guarantor is added to a check, we will verify their:
- ID
- Residence
- Income (Typically to a higher threshold than an applicant)
All checks are identical to those done on a traditional applicant.
Can an applicant use a guarantor company?
Your applicant can use a third-party company guarantor; however, we will be unable to verify them, and you won't receive a guarantor report.
If your applicant intends to use a guarantor company, please note this in the comments section when setting up their check. We will proceed with their check on the basis that a guarantor company is being used.
