TLDR: The required applicant ID documents vary by origin: UK citizens need a UK passport or a driver's license with birth certificate; Irish citizens require an Irish passport; EU/EEA nationals need an EU/EEA passport or ID with a right to rent share code or proof of UK travel; others need a passport plus a right to rent share code, valid visa, or Unique Application Number. Alternative documents may be discussed if these are unavailable.
Applicant ID
When providing their ID, the type of documentation required will vary based on your applicant's country of origin.
UK Citizens
If the applicant is a UK citizen, then we can accept the following document combinations:
- An up-to-date UK passport
- An up-to-date UK driver's licence and birth certificate
Irish Citizens
If the applicant is an Irish citizen, we can accept the following document combinations:
- An up-to-date Irish passport
EU & EEA Nationals
If the applicant is an EU or EEA national, then we can accept the following document combinations:
- EU/EEA passport & right to rent share code
- EU/EEA ID & right to rent share code
- EU/EEA passport & proof of travel to the UK
- EU/EEA ID & proof of travel to the UK
Rest of the World
If the applicant is not a citizen of the UK, Ireland, the EU or EEA then the following documentation combinations are required:
- Passport and a right to rent share code
- Passport and an in-date visa or vignette/stamp
- Passport and a Unique Application Number (UAN) only if your client is currently in the UK

Should your applicant not have any of the above-listed documentation, we will discuss with them using other supported documentation, as advised by the UK government.
