TL;DR: From 1 October 2026, HomePPL reports will replace “IDVT” with “Digital Right to Rent” and display the Entrust result on the first page. The report will show whether both the applicant’s ID and Right to Rent were verified, while the supplementary Entrust report will provide full details and reasons for any failed checks. Failed results may require an in-person check.
From 1st October 2026, our previously-IDVT reports will change slightly. The ‘IDVT’ check will be replaced by ‘Digital Right to Rent’, where the Entrust result will be reflected directly in the first page of the report.
The ‘Identity Summary’ section will then outline the check results as follows:
Here, the ID document provided by the applicant was verified alongside their right to rent. The supplementary Entrust report will show all the checks conducted and passed.
A flag like this would mean that the digital right to rent check has failed. The ID document has been verified and approved, however, the applicant might have failed the live motion selfie. The supplementary Entrust report will show any relevant flags, and the reasons as to why this has failed. In such cases, and in-person check will be required.
This final case will reflect that we have not been able to verify the ID document nor the Digital Right to Rent. The supplementary Entrust report will show any relevant flags, and the reasons as to why this has failed. This could mean, for example, that the applicant’s identity document could not be verified, therefore their digital right to rent could not be processed. It could also meant that the applicant is not a UK or Irish citizen, and therefore the check could not be conducted successfully.
